Vegetable Chow Mein

Vegetable Chow Mein is a popular Chinese stir-fried noodle dish that typically consists of stir-fried noodles, but today we have just a vegetable version with a variety of vegetables. The dish whips up quick and is known for its savory flavor.

Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 cup of sliced fresh mushrooms ( i prefer cremini)
  • 1 cup chopped celery
  • 1 cup of chopped white onions
  • 3 cups of fresh bean sprouts
  • 3 green onions, chopped
  • salt and pepper

Sauce

  • 1 teaspoon brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 3 teaspoons gluten free soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder

Instructions

  1. Heat your pan and oil, now add in your mushrooms, sprinkle some salt and pepper and fry for a couple of minutes.
  2. Now add in the celery and onions, sprinkle some more salt and pepper.
  3. Let the mixture cook for a couple of minutes with the lid on to let it steam,
  4. Stir the bean sprouts into the pan and allow this to steam for a couple more minutes.
  5. When you reach the texture of the sprouts you like add in the sauce, green onions and stir constantly until heated through.
  6. Remove from heat and enjoy!
