Rice Pudding
Indulge in the simple pleasure of our Homemade Creamy Rice Pudding—a classic dessert that brings comfort and nostalgia to every spoonful. Crafted with care, this velvety treat combines tender rice grains with rich, creamy goodness, delicately sweetened and perfumed with hints of vanilla and cinnamon. Served warm or chilled, it's a timeless delight that captures the essence of home and the warmth of cherished family recipes.
- 1/3 cup cornstarch
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 3 cups non dairy milk
- 1 tablespoon vegan margarine
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 cups cooked white rice
- 1/4 cup raisons, optional
- Cinnamon and or nutmeg, optional
Instructions
- Cook rice according to directions and set aside.
- If you want to add raisons place 1/4 cup raisons in boiling water and set aside.
- In a medium saucepan combine cornstarch, sugar and salt.
- Gradually add milk and stir well.
- Over medium heat, bring mix to a boil. Boil for 2 minutes, stirring constantly to ensure even thickening or non scalding of milk.
- Once its a good consistency remove from the stove.
- Stir in margarine and vanilla and combine well.
- Add in your rice and stir well.
- If your using raisons, drain them and add to the mixture.
- Pour into bowls and serve.
*you could also add a small amount of cinnamon or nutmeg to add a different flavor to the rice pudding.
*your pudding will last for a few days in the fridge in a closed container, you can even slightly heat it up before serving.
